Hands-on, Real-patient Experience: Learn Dental Orthodontics from the Best

Hands-on orthodontic course

Orthodontics is a growing market, and one that could benefit your practice.

If you are a general or pediatric dentist who is interested in boosting patient retention rates and staying ahead of important industry trends, it’s helpful to understand the changes in the orthodontic industry of late. And a hands-on orthodontic course where you can work on real-patients in clinic is the best way to get started quickly and confidently.

How the Orthodontic Landscape is Changing

Industry experts predict the U.S. orthodontics market will increase by nearly $7 billion over the next seven years, bolstered by a compound annual growth rate of 14.3%. The demographics fueling this incredible rise in revenue are mainly children, teenagers, and older adults. In the past, general dentists were the primary providers of orthodontic referrals. Today, word of mouth and self-referrals are the most common ways patients obtain orthodontic care.

The streamlining of orthodontic treatment by incorporating software, virtual reality devices, and mobile apps for treatment is attracting more patients who previously thought they did not have time to undergo orthodontic work. Parents are reading accessible, science-backed information that shows early orthodontic intervention significantly improves long-term oral health in children while reducing or eliminating the need for orthodontics in adolescents.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports dentists who are qualified to offer orthodontic work will benefit from an excellent career outlook due to increasing demands for malocclusion correction. Additional benefits of general and pediatric dentists incorporating orthodontics into their practice include:

  • Dentists providing orthodontics have one of the more stable career fields and sources of income. The BLS projects a steady increase of several percentage points between now and 2029 for dentists practicing orthodontics.
  • There is potential for career advancement opportunities that involve development and research in many areas of the dental field.
  • Adding orthodontics could add an earning potential of $50,000 to $100,000 to a general or pediatric dentist’s annual salary. Currently, the average income of U.S. dentists offering orthodontics is approximately $285,000 per year. That salary is expected to rise at least 10% over the next decade.

Introducing the Premier Comprehensive Orthodontics Clinical Program

It’s never been a better time for general and pediatric dentists to take their career and dental practice to an exciting new level by enrolling in Synergy Orthodontics Seminars’ Premier Comprehensive Orthodontics Clinical Program. Completing this program allows you to offer straight wire orthodontics to existing patients while attracting new patients looking for this in-demand dental procedure.

What does this program teach general dentists?

Upon completion of this continued education (CE) course, dentists are equipped to clinically diagnose and treat Class I and II malocclusions. Students will also gain proficiency in the basic orthodontic system.

How long does the course last and what is included in each session?

Our straight wire orthodontics clinical program consists of six separate sessions. Each session involves 11 half days full of lectures, videos, hands-on benchtop exercises, and practice reviewing current cases that may be problematic for you. In addition, there are clinical reviews of patients who will be treated by program participants the following day.

What else can I expect when I take the Premier Comprehensive Orthodontics Clinical Program?

Dentists will also gain hands-on orthodontic experience by assisting Dr. Williams and several other orthodontic dentists licensed by the state of Oklahoma who treat patients in a local clinic. You will be supervised by Dr. Williams and the attending dentists as you develop proficiency with orthodontic procedures. Dr. Williams is always available to answer your questions about orthodontics by email or text.
